SELECTING THE RIGHT SIZE SHOULDER PAD IS ESSENTIAL FOR PROPER PROTECTION AND MOBILITY.
HERE S A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO CORRECTLY SIZE A WOMEN'S SHOULDER PAD:
- Choose the right size: Measure from shoulder to shoulder across the back to show the shoulder span of the player. Once measured, refer to the size chart to determine which size to grab for the player. (insist on the fact that this is the ONLY measurement that matters, regardless of their body types/height/chest size... The rest is adjustable or will adapt to their shapes) You can also refer to their height as the secondary measurement reference. Select the size that is closest to the middle of the recommended range.
- Chest width adjustment: Once the pad is on, have them adjust the side bust coverage panels on the left and right sides to their liking; these are located on the front section of the pad. These straps work by first un-velcroing the small green tab and then pulling it towards the armpit (for more coverage) or towards the sternum pad (for less coverage). Make sure to have them adjust both sides so it has even coverage. If done correctly, the side should be fully covered with no extra pad on the side. This adjusment can we finetuned later.
- Securing the Pad to Body: Once the side bust coverage adjustment is completed, secure the back of the pad to the front of the pad by pulling the length adjustable chest straps located on the back panel of the pad and attaching it to the lower Velcro section in the front of the pad. After the pad is secure, then secure the bicep straps by wrapping the bicep strap around their bicep. The tightness of the chest and bicep straps depends on the player's liking.
- Adjust bust volume: After the pad is secure on the body, adjust the shoudler pad's volume by pulling and un velcroing the
"ADPT FIT 3D tab located at the bottom of the sternum pad. After that is un-velcroed, the lower front panel can be pulled up (to reduce bust volume) or down (to increase bust volume) allowing the player to find her ideal pressure/support/fit. - Final Touches: Once the pad is adjusted to the body, fix the bicep height if needed. To do this adjust the vertical Velcro strap under the shoulder caps, moving the bicep pad up and down. Have the player move arms around to ensure they have a good range of mobility, replicating hockey positions rather than just standing up straight, to ensure all adjustments are as comfortable as possible and confirm size is right.
