FIT PROTOCOL PROPERLY FITTING SHIN GUARDS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR PROTECTING YOUR LOWER LEGS FROM PUCKS, STICKS, AND OTHER IMPACTS THAT MAY OCCUR DURING HOCKEY GAMES. THE RIGHT FIT WILL PROVIDE MAXIMUM PROTECTION WITHOUT HINDERING YOUR PERFORMANCE ON THE ICE. HERE'S A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO PROPERLY FIT A SHIN GUARD: 1. Findingthe Right Size: Measurethedistancefrom the centerofthe kneecaptothe middle oftheankleboneontheside. Askthe player whethertheyweartheirskatetonguestucked insidetheirshinguards, oroutsidethem. Then retertothe size chart to select the size and tongue position that best corresponds (aim for the middle of the size range). 2. Select the Guard: Select the right size shin guard and have the player try it on. 3. Position the Shin Guard: Position the guard on the leg, making sure they cover the entire shin area from just above the knee to the top of the skate tongue. Length can vary depending on if the player puts their skate tongue over or under their shin guard. Ideally, have the player put a skate on when trying on the shin guards, to ensure they can still flex comfortably in a skate position. 4. Check Knee Coverage: The kneecap of the shin guards should align with the knee, providing adequate protection to the front of the knee. 5. Evaluate Ankle Protection: The bottom of the shin guards should cover the top of the skates, offering protection for the frontof your ankles. 6. Adjust Straps: Fasten the straps on the shin guards securely. The straps should keep the shin guards in place without being too tight and affecting circulation. Reposition the length-ajustable calf strap around the back of the pads as needed to ensure a custom fit no matter their shin size. 7. Check Range of Motion: Have the player flex their legs and perform skating movements to ensure the shin guards don't restrict range of motion and that they will feel comfortable during gameplay.
